Biography
Greg Wallis is a third-generation Californian serving in the State Assembly, where he has built a record focused on keeping California affordable, safe, and economically competitive.
After studying political science, Greg moved to the Coachella Valley more than a decade ago and quickly became active in the community. He and his wife, Desiree, his high school sweetheart, make their home in Bermuda Dunes with their Great Dane, Harley, and Australian Cattle Dog, Gunner.
Greg decided to run for the Assembly when he watched friends leave California because they could no longer afford to stay. He ran on the belief that California can do better, and that belief has shaped his legislative priorities ever since. Nearing the completion of his second term, his work has centered on the three issues he hears most from constituents: public safety, education, and affordability. He has worked to strengthen support for law enforcement and emergency preparedness, expand career and college pathways for young people, and push back against the policies that drive up costs for families across the district.
That commitment to the region extends to its natural landscape. Greg was instrumental in the designation of the Chuckwalla National Monument, protecting one of the most ecologically significant desert landscapes in Southern California. For that work, he received the Force for Nature Award, a recognition that reflects his bipartisan approach to conservation and his deep ties to the communities he represents.
Throughout his time in office, Greg has emphasized a pragmatic, results-oriented approach to governing. As a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, he has worked across party lines to advance practical solutions and cut through the gridlock in Sacramento.
Greg serves on several key committees, including Budget, Economic Development, Growth and Household Impact, Governmental Organization, Insurance, and Utilities and Energy. He is Vice Chair of the Inland Empire Caucus and a member of the Technology and Innovation Caucus and serves on several select committees, including the select committees on Master Plan for Higher Education and Housing Finance and Affordability.
