In a statement, Wallis’s office said the designation would help “highlight California as a global leader in clean energy,” noting the state’s vast solar infrastructure and abundant sunlight.
“California has over 2 million solar rooftops and generated more than 30% of its electricity from solar power in 2022,” said Wallis. “This bill is a reflection of who we are and where we’re going.”
