Wallis Announces Funding for Local Transitional Age Youth Programs

RANCHO MIRAGE – Assemblymember Greg Wallis today announced more than $4.7 million in funding for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) programs in his district.

“Young adults coming out of the foster care or probation systems are at high risk for homelessness. TAY programs help them secure and maintain housing, giving them needed stability and support as they begin to build independence. This money will help Riverside and San Bernardino Counties with their TAY programs to serve our vulnerable young adults,” said Wallis.

The funding comes through the California Department of Housing and Community Development Department. Riverside County has been awarded $1,291,873 and San Bernardino County will receive $1,537,637 in Transitional Housing Program Round 4 dollars. Riverside County will receive $802,505 and San Bernardino County will receive $1,184,255 in Housing Navigation and Maintenance Program Round 1 funding.
